Professor Val Williams is Director of the Photography and Archive Research Centre.
Val Williams is a writer and curator. From 1999-2001 she was Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the Hasselblad Foundation in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 1996, she initiated the Shoreditch Biennale with photographer Anna Fox. In 2001 she was invited to curate the first Printemps de Septembre a Toulouse She was appointed as Research Fellow at the London Institute (London College of Fashion and the London College of Printing) and is now Director of the University of the Arts London Photography and Archive Research Centre. She was appointed as a Professor at the University of the Arts London in October 2004. In 2006, she curated (with Susan Bright) the exhibition How We Are: Photographing Britain for Tate Britain. She has also curated exhibitions including ‘Martin Parr: Photographic Works’ for the Barbican art Gallery and ‘Warworks’ for the V&A. Val Williams was the founding editor of the Journal of Photography and Culture and continues to co-edit the Journal. She is currently working on an exhibition and book about the documentary photographs of Daniel Meadows. She initiated the Oral History of British Photography with the National Sound Archive and has been the recipient of two AHRC research grants.

Wendy Short is the Research Administrator for PARC.
She joined in the summer of 2010 after working as Centre Administrator at the UAL Centre for Drawing. Since completing her MA Fine Art, Wendy has worked for a number of visual arts organisations including Stills, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Arts Festival, The Venice Biennale and the National Galleries of Scotland.
